Number one tip for selecting your wedding photographer

The main tip I can give you when considering your wedding photographer is budget. Can you find someone to shoot your wedding for $800? Sure, but are you going to get your photos on time or be happy with them. Maybe? And "maybes" don't belong in the planning process of your wedding. This isn't to say there isn't a gem newbie out there doing it at that price, but it's a long term investment here and needs to be seen as one. The rush of your day will fly by but few things will stand the test of time as much as photos. How many times are you looking at your parents wedding photos vs your moms dress? The two are not comparable in terms of how often these things will be used. Consider the cost as an investment and then make the determination of what price you can afford.

Maybe that means you can only afford four hrs vs eight hrs.

Four hours with your dream photographer is a lot of time in contrary to a full day with someone "getting the job done". It's all about where you prioritize photos on your list of wedding day costs and your budget.

Elopements

Elopements

Wild, Simple, Free.

Elopements are a great idea for couples looking to save cost. While you're saving on a large venue and feeding family, your wedding photographer is still doing the same amount of work wether or not there's a hundred set of extra eyes around to watch. The cost is the same and all depends on the number of hours you need coverage for.
